SCANNING LASER RADAR FOR ON-THE-ROAD DISTANCE MEASURING
This article describes how scan action radar can help to eliminate limitations of fixed-beam systems. The scanning laser radar (SLR) sends a narrow light beam on a horizontal line, thus enabling rapid distance measurement. This type of system is vital to effective collision avoidance systems and intelligent cruise control systems.
