WAVE, A EUROPEAN RESEARCH PROJECT ON WEIGH-IN-MOTION
This paper presents WAVE (Weigh-in-motion of Axles and Vehicles for Europe), a research project with the objective of improving the accuracy and performance of weigh-in-motion (WIM) technology. The principle objectives of WAVE are: 1) to improve the accuracy of WIM systems; 2) to develop a prototype pan-European WIM database; 3) to develop calibration and testing procedures for WIM system performance and accuracy; and, 4) to develop a prototype fiber optic WIM sensor.
