TRACKING AND PREDICTING A NETWORK TRAFFIC PROCESS

This article studies the problems of real-time modeling and predicting freeway traffic. Conditional independence relationships and forecasting techniques are proposed which lead to dynamic state-space models using Kalman filters. The models are applied to several road networks in the Netherlands.
