CITY OF ANAHEIM TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. MOTORIST INFORMATION AND ROUTE DIVERSION SYSTEM FOR THE STATE ROUTE 91/LA PALMA AVENUE CORRIDOR

This report focuses on efforts to provide information to travelers and guide motorists who travel on State Route 91/La Palma Avenue Corridor in Anaheim, California. It presents a design guide for motorist information and route guidance systems. The guide includes the following elements: designs for variable message signs, options for highway advisory radio, requirements for a communications network, the design for a Motorist Information System, including Bulletin Board Systems and Community access television, expansion of the inter-agency link between the traffic management center (TMC) and the Caltrans traffic operations center (TOC).
