ANALYZING FIELD DATA FOR UNDRAINED SHEAR SETTLEMENTS
A square-root of adjusted-time method for extracting initial settlements from settlement platform observations is presented. This method requires only filling records and settlement platform data. Results using the square-root of performed with different pitch excitations, representing a large variety of short-term sea states. The short-term observations. Field data are analyzed from seven settlement platforms in fills built over the varved clay of the Connecticut River Valley. Restrictions on the method and use of the results in future foundation design are pointed out. /Author/
