DEVELOPMENT OF A DYNAMIC TRAFFIC STATE MONITORING SYSTEM FOR FREEWAY CORRIDORS
This dissertation presents a dynamic traffic state monitoring system (DTSM) which can identify traffic abnormalities, detect and classify incidents, and predict the spatial as well as temporal evolution of shockwaves due to incidents. The FRESIM simulation package is used to generate the necessary data for system development.
