IMPLEMENTATION OF PRICING MEASURES FOR SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT: INVESTIGATING ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY AND SOCIAL ACCEPTABILITY, IN: SOCIAL CHANGE AND SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT
The paper provides some reflections on possible transatlantic research initiatives on sustainable transport pricing in general and on road traffic and aviation in particular. The goal of the paper is to: provide an inventory of the state of the art in research on the main methodological and empirical questions surrounding marginal cost pricing in transport; assess future research needs on the topic; and simulate joint research initiatives by U.S. and European Union researchers and institutions in this field.
