TRANSPORT FOR THE DISABLED AND ELDERLY UPDATE (2000-2002)
This issue of Current Topics includes over 70 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the personal mobility of the elderly and disabled, both in the UK and across the world. Articles are included covering such subjects as accessibility of public transport, buses, trains, railway stations and aircraft terminals. Other subjects include legislation, vehicle design, wheelchair access and public transport concessionary fares for the elderly. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2000 and 2002. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
