A FUNDAMENTAL LOOK AT STRUCTURAL REPAIR BY INJECTION USING SYNTHETIC RESINS
Synthetic resins, notably epoxides, have been and are being used to effect structural repair in concrete. In particular repair to distressed structures using resin injection techniques are becoming widespread and in many ways the technique is developing a standard pattern. However, injection methods, selection of resins, crack pre-treatment and testing methods are developing albeit very much from the practical standpoint with little attempt to understand the process itself. This paper tries to make the engineer aware of the fundamental factors controlling and perhaps limiting the process, and, hopefully to stimulate improved techniques and materials. Several case histories are discussed. /TRRL/
