COMPARISON BETWEEN ACCELERATED AND NATURAL CARBONATION RESULTS IN DIFFERENT CONCRETES
This paper reviews results of a study on the carbonation rate of concrete made with cements with different pozzolan addition when carbonated with concentrations of carbon oxide higher carbon dioxide concentration has been found to significantly change the concrete resistance, and the paper emphasizes that the results of any accelerated carbonation test should only be used to get a comparative idea between different concrete qualities made of similar components. However, accelerated carbonation is an important tool for laboratory studies if its limitations are recognized.
