DESIGNING TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS FOR ACTIVE COMMUNITIES: PLANNING, DESIGN AND SYSTEM PERFORMANCE CONSIDERATIONS
This article presents a general overview of trends and challenges in urban growth and mobility, discusses areas of opportunity, and provides examples of success. It also cautions about the limitations of these techniques to radically change the built environment as well as the importance of setting goals that are commensurate with a transportation system's ability to deliver the highest level of performance.
