THERMOMECHANICAL ANALYSIS OF AGED ASPHALT PAVEMENTS AT LOW TEMPERATURE
This paper presents laboratory investigations realized on asphalt pavements' samples, cored on a Swiss highway, and their behavior at cold temperatures through a thermal stress restrained test. This laboratory analysis was undertaken on samples cored in the lane called "normal lane" and, on the other hand, on the materials taken from the emergency lane of an 8 years old highway. In this way, the bituminous mixes submitted to 8 years of traffic loads have been compared to the emergency lane mixes having only been submitted to 8 years of environmental actions supposed to be without any traffic. Bituminous mix samples were made with pure bitumen and polymer modified bitumen, which represent 16 different products. For the covering abstract see ITRD E117423.
