THE EFFECT OF ROAD TRANSPORT TELEMATICS
This study discusses user related effects of the most prevalent in- vehicle Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) functions, with focus on direct driver support. Areas discussed include: the drivers' need for different types of support, the design of the man machine interface, the influence of a driver support system on the way the specific driving task is performed, and the general effects of ITS on driving behavior including behavior adaptation. The study also looks at driver acceptance of different types of support systems.
