DASH FROM CASH : ELECTRONIC TOLLING IS SET TO ACCOUNT FOR THE LION'S SHARE OF TRANSACTIONS IN THE WORLD'S LARGEST TOLLING MARKET AS THE ECONOMIC CASE FOR MANUAL TOLLING BECOMES INCREASINGLY UNSUSTAINABLE
This article gives an overview of automated toll collection in the U.S., showing that toll operators are switching from cash transactions to electronic systems. It notes that one in five tolls in North America are already collected electronically.
