TACKLING TRAFFIC IN WALES
This article discusses efforts taking place in Wales in anticipation of the Rugby World Cup. The project designed to manage traffic conditions for the area is known as M4NTAIS CYMRU (M4 Network Traveller and Information Services Wales). It is the one of the first attempts in the world to deal with the problems of traffic congestion on an inter-urban scale. The project involves CCTV cameras, detection loops, and variable message signs.
