CONTEXT SENSITIVE SOLUTIONS : STATE DOTS WORK TO PRESERVE ELEMENTS IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY

These days, designing a highway is no longer simply a matter of planning for safety and mobility, but requires consideration of environmental, community, scenic and historic resources. This article summarizes two case studies in Kentucky and then offers several resources, including books and a website to help planners find more information.
