THE CHARACTERISATION OF CEMENTITIOUS INSITU STABILISED PAVEMENT MATERIALS: THE PAST, THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE
This paper presents the benefits of insitu stabilization as well as a brief history of stabilization technology, and outlines the construction techniques commonly used for insitu stabilization processes. The various binders available for stabilization and the characterization of stabilized pavement materials are also discussed. Lastly, the paper describes the future expected developments for the insitu stabilization industry and recommends that future research focus on standardizing sample preparation and test methods as well as on the development of fatigue-life models applicable to materials stabilized with slow setting cementitious binders.
