HIGHWAY DRAINAGE AND CONSTRUCTION UPDATE (2000-2002)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 75 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles that focus on the design, construction, and performance of highway drainage systems. Citations include papers dealing with pavement edge drains, tile drains, culverts, open graded drainage layers, the use of geosynthetic materials, filtration, storm water management and the chemical composition of stormwater. There is a marked emphasis on flooding prevention and pollution control during the design, construction and use of highways and their drainage facilities. These items have been selected from the material added to the TRL Library Database between 2000 and 2002. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
