INTAKE AIR FILTER APPLICATION GUIDE FOR GAS TURBINES

There are a number of factors when choosing a gas turbine intake air conditioning system. For a Coastal and Marine environment salt corrosion, fuel used and air pollution likely to be encountered from exhaust must be considered. The fact that large quantities of sea water will be encountered in the intake air system must also be considered. Tropical and arctic environments require other special considerations due to conditions such as bugs or snow (respectively). Overall, type of load (base-up to 8700 hrs/yr or peak--a few hundred hrs.yr) and air volume (small-below 15,000 cfm and large-above 15,000 cfm) must also be considered.
