FLOATING UNIT PROPOSED FOR DEEP WATER PRODUCTION, STORAGE
A new mobile vertical offshore storage design has combined the advantages of a single point mooring system and a mobile storage unit. It behaves well in waves and is linked by subsea lines to well heads on the ocean floor. It has a storage capacity of 400,000 bbl. and is designed for operation in as much as 400 Ft of water. It consists of a six section storage cylinder and a surface area reducing cylinder making up one unit. This is joined to the superstructure cylinder which processes the oil on location. A highly mobile boom and flexible hose allow easy transfer to a tanker with a bow manifold.
