KELVIN HUGHES NEW "SITUATION DISPLAY" RADAR
Extensive sea trials, mainly aboard the Pointsman have proven the reliability of a new type of RADAR display. The situation adjusted display features a Radar adjusted relative display which can be used day and night without a hood so several people can watch the display at the same time. Plotting is minimized due to the afterglow properties of the machine. Tracks of other vessels are shown on the screen. The display is actually a television, so as many as four other displays can be shown on the vessel. Many other favorable effects and features are cited including the price of the unit which is no more than many PPI sets.
