RADAR BASED CONVOYING USING A FREQUENCY SELECTIVE SURFACE PATH
This paper considers the development of a look-ahead radar based sensor/ control system in a convoying application of truck-trailers. A radar reflective patch is attached to the rear side of every leading vehicle in the convoy, and every follower is equipped with a radar transmitter/ receiver. The information provided to the controlled truck by the radar sensor is used for the decentralized headway and steering control of the convoying vehicles.
