APPLICATIONS OF THE INTERNET IN THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY

This paper explores the existing transportation-related resources available through the Internet, describes the different transportation applications, and provides access guidelines. Seven different transportation-related Internet services are described: trip planning education and research, federal, state Department of Transportation professional organizations, communication, and miscellaneous. Each of the categories is described, and a list of existing resources is included.
