MOTION, A NEW APPROACH TO URBAN NETWORK CONTROL
This article describes MOTION, a traffic signal control system, which consists of a network and a local level and builds on enhanced dynamic traffic state estimation. Special consideration is given to the modularity of the system, its flexibility to cope with different practical situations, and to the prioritization of public transit.
