FUTURE APPLICATIONS FOR SHORT RANGE VEHICLE/ROADSIDE COMMUNICATIONS LINKS
This paper begins with a look at the way in which Short Range Communications (SRC) links have developed and reached the marketplace and a representative system is briefly outlined. The paper continues by describing recent developments within PROMETHEUS and in particular within Jaguar's program to exploit these links to bring road traffic information to drivers. The last part of the paper looks at the issues which will affect the development of these applications and determine those which will eventually become products.
