RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT WORK ON NAVIGATION SYSTEMS AT NISSAN
This article describes automobile navigation systems research work at Nissan. Current systems show drivers the vehicle's present location on a CRT map display. It is expected that future navigation systems will incorporate two key capabilities: route guidance and communications link with the roadside infrastructure for receiving outside information.
