INTEGRATION BETWEEN ANTICOLLISION AND AICC FUNCTION : THE ALERT PROJECT
This paper presents information on the development of the ALERT prototype vehicle. The goal of this research activity is to experiment on test vehicle benefits and drawbacks coming from the integration of different anticollision and AICC (Autonomous Intelligent Cruise Control) systems. After a description of the more general aspects on the integration between anticollision and AICC, the paper describes the functional architecture and different subsystems developed for the vehicle.
