TOWARD REALIZATION OF VICS, VEHICLE INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

This paper presents the VICS (Vehicle Information & Communication System) system, designed to function as a traffic information system for drivers in Japan. It describes the public demonstration of the system, introduces VICS' objectives and the reasons for its establishment, and describes the current status of its activities.
