INTEGRATED PAYMENT IN AUTOMATIC DEBITING SYSTEMS FOR TRANSPORT SERVICES
This paper reports on the achievements within the DRIVE II project ADEPT ( Automatic Debiting and Electronic Payment for Transport) concerning Integrated Payment (IP) in transport and related services. In the project a model for IP is developed and the several functions and interfaces are specified. Specific problems in IP are: uniform data elements, security, money management and exception handling. The most critical component in the system, the smart card, is specified in detail including a sophisticated security solution.
