REVIEW OF BUS LANES. SUMMARY - REVIEWING THE OPERATION OF ALL EXISTING BUS LANES
The report examines the effectiveness of bus lanes on 44 locations out of a total of 93 schemes now in operation in London. Brief details are given of costs and benefits, safety, and the effect on other traffic. It is concluded that the bus priority schemes are serving a useful purpose in assisting bus operations. Any problems that have arisen usually indicate that design modifications are required rather than lack of need for the bus priority scheme. /TRRL/
