PRECONDITIONS OF THE INTRODUCTION OF SMART CARS AND ROADS

The development of smart cars and roads concentrates on applications of new technologies in road transport. The feasibility of new technologies as well as a positive benefit-cost estimation are not sufficient for introducing these technologies. There are some basic conditions which determine traffic demand and potential adequate technical solutions. A certain work method dealing with system design and evaluation emerges from this. Special consideration should be given to implementation aspects.
