ANALYSIS FOR ESTABLISHING TARGET SAFETY LEVELS FOR IVHS
Investigates a methodology for quantitatively evaluating the safety of an IVHS system. The methodology provides a technical basis for establishing the target safety levels for designing the safety- critical components of an IVHS system, in particular those that perform control functions. In addition, this methodology also provides a means for specifying the safety criteria for an automatic controlled vehicle based on the predefined target safety levels.
