ASCE NAMES TOP ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE CENTURY
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) named the 10 civil engineering achievements that have had the most positive impact on society in the 20th century: airport design and development, dams, the interstate highway system, long-span bridges, rail transportation, sanitary landfills/solid waste disposal, skyscrapers, waste water disposal, water supply and distribution, and water transportation (canals and ports).
