TOPICS OF RESEARCH : STRUCTURES

This document contains input from the Definition Phase of the PROMETHEUS Working Group 3. It focuses on electronic, electrical hardware, software, video, graphic, and hydraulic architectures which are adapted to the vehicle environment. Specifically, the focus of this Structure Group deals with (1) common work organization, (2) general architecture, (3) systems interconnection, and (4) safety and reliability. Within this area, different topics of research are identified. For each area of research, the following is given: scope system definition, development, status, requirements, and assessment criteria. Topics of research range from different types of architectures and networks to safety and fault tolerance. Concludes with a glossary on structures, architectures, and network aspects.
