COSCREEN98 UPDATE TO WINDOWS
An air quality screening model serves a very useful purpose. The use of a screening model enables an air quality analyst to quickly eliminate from further consideration those project intersections that pose no significant threat of an air quality violation, and focus his or her attention on those intersections that are problematic. Of course, to qualify as a good screening tool, it must be easy to use and must be conservative in its assumptions. COSCREEN98 is a true Windows program and is very easy to use. In addition, it contains within it both MOBILE5a and CAL3QHC2, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's required or preferred models for doing air quality analyses of roads and intersections. Furthermore, it has the ability to model different regions within the state, and includes three different land use options. Thus the new model is more accurate and defensible than the old version.
