BRIDGE, AGE 125, SEEKS NEW HOME
When New York State's Department of Transportation put out bids for a replacement for the 125-year-old, pale green steel truss bridge over the Ramapo River in Hillburn, New York, they did so with the requirement that the contractors take the old bridge apart and set it aside. Local preservationists hope to find a town or developer that needs a little 19th century charm to reassemble the bridge in another location.
