LOCALS WANT TO ENSURE INPUT IN LOOK OF PROPOSED CROSSING
Like tolls, the design-build approach has apparently become one of the casualties of the continuing struggle to build a new bridge over the Cooper River in South Carolina. Hoping to secure funding from the public sector, the South Carolina Department of Transportation has recently decided to revert to a traditional approach. The community voiced its opposition to design-build, fearing that it would not have as much control over how the bridge will look.
