TALREN STABILITY ANALYSIS PROGRAM FOR THE DESIGN OF COMPLEX REINFORCED SOIL STRUCTURES: IMPORTANT CASE HISTORIES

The reinforced soil technique has undergone considerable evolution during the last two decades. The lack of suitable design methods and software for complex reinforced soil structures has led TERRASOL to develop a specific computer code, capable of treating all reinforcement types and complex geometrical, soil and hydraulic conditions. This paper will first present an overview of the evolution of the reinforced soil technique, showing the need for suitable design methods. A description of the theory and the capabilities of the program will then be presented. The final part of this paper will present two important recent case histories of complex reinforced soil structures successfully designed using the TALREN computer code.
