GRANULAR SOIL REINFORCED WITH A GEOTEXTILE-FIBRE SYSTEM
In this paper a new concept of soil reinforcement is proposed and is based on the combined use of geotextiles and fibres or "GeotexF". Results of a test program to determine the change in strength of a sand reinforced with a mixture of geotextile and randomly oriented synthetic fibres (polyamide) are presented. A series of triaxial compression tests were performed in order to investigate the strength and deformation characteristics of the "GeotexF" and unreinforced sand.
