A STUDY AND ENGINEERING PRACTICE OF EMBEDDED-FRAMEWORK LIME-FLY ASH MACADAM BASECOURSES

This paper introduces an embedded-framework lime-fly ash macadam mixture in which a higher proportion of coarse aggregates is used and vibrating rolling is required to make aggregates interlocked to each other. Fine aggregates below 1.5mm are not used and more binding materials of lime-flyash (40% of the mixture in volume) are used instead. The grading and construction method of the mixture are presented in detail. It is proved that the mixture has much better performance than ordinary macadam mixtures.
