PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. AN ELEMENT OF THE URBAN TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM

This report, initially designed as a training course, is made available to those just getting involved in public transportation as well as to those who are familiar with only certain aspects of the field. This report provides a comprehensive introduction into the history, financing, planning and operations for public transportation facilities and services. A large number of topics are covered in this report which are geared to broadening the perspective of public transportation and its role during times of high energy prices, short supplies and national concerns on air pollution, redevelopment of the city centers and urban mobility for all segments of society.
