WARMWATER STREAM ALTERATION IN IOWA: EXTENT, EFFECTS ON HABITAT, FISH, AND FISH FOOD, AND EVALUATION OF STREAM IMPROVEMENT STRUCTURES

The report summarizes results given in 5 other subproject reports. Studies were conducted from 1973 to 1976 to determine the extent of stream channelization in Iowa, differences in populations of fish and fish-food organisms in channelized and unchannelized streams, effects of stream alterations for highway bridge construction, and the value of stream-bank stabilization structures to fish habitat.
