CONTROLLER/COMPUTER INTERFACE WITH AN AIR-GROUND DATA LINK
This report describes the results of an experiment for evaluating the controller/computer interface in an ARTS III/M and S system modified for use with a simulated digital data link and a voice link utilizing a computer-generated voice system. A modified ARTS III M and S system at the National Aviation Facilities Experimental Center (NAFEC) provided the means for determining which of three candidate control and display modes was the most suitable for the display and dispatch of computer-generated M and S commands in a mixed voice/digital communications environment.
