LITERATURE REVIEW: CRUSHED ROCK AND AGGREGATE FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION - SOME ASPECTS OF PERFORMANCE, TEST METHODS AND RESEARCH NEEDS
Selected literature on road failures, aggregates and test methods is reviewed to demonstrate that there is a problem with the durability of particular rock types in roads. Test methods normally used for aggregate selection are briefly outlined. The absolute significance of test results is not apparent and the consensus is that the results of a range of test methods should be interpreted in the light of experience with the aggregate in service. /Author/ /TRRL/
