THE PERKINS 6.247-THE HIGH SPEED, HIGH ECONOMY DIESEL ENGINE FOR NORTH AMERICAN LIGHT DUTY APPLICATIONS
Differing emphasis in automotive technology has provoked interest in the use of diesel as opposed to gasoline engines, especially in the light duty vehicle sector. The Perkins 6.247 diesel engine has been adapted specifically for this sector; this paper discusses the 6.247 engine design and justifies its consideration as an alternative to the current predominant gasoline engines. /GMRL/
