DIESEL ENGINE NOISE: BASIC STUDIES LEAD TO PRACTICAL REDUCTIONS
Early work aimed at diesel engine noise reduction is described. This has led to an intensive research programme to develop a method of predicting engine noise. A special research engine incorporating the latest noise control features is described. The research engine is additionally used to verify the predictive technique, and the analysis completed to date is discussed. /GMRL/
