MAIN STREET: WINDSOR TO QUEBEC CITY

More than half Canada's population lives along the lower Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River, between Windsor and Quebec City. This axis is the service center, industrial center, and major market of the nation, meeting across the water with similarly vital regions in the United States. The extent to which people and economic activity are allowed to concentrate in this one area in the future will dictate growth distribution throughout Canada, with widespread implications south of the border as well. Clearly then, definitive knowledge of the axis is necessary, and MAIN STREET is the first such analysis.
