COMPACT AUTOMATIC VEHICLE CONTROLLER OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
The national trend toward smaller vehicles emphasized the need to lighten the NHTSA automatic vehicle controller. A new Compact Automatic Vehicle Controller (CAVC) was designed, built, and checked out based upon a weight reduction study of the conventional NHTSA Automatic Vehicle Controller. The new controller also has electronic components that are more temperature stable. This manual summarizes the operation, maintenance, and calibration of the new CAVC. The manual also provides drawings and a detailed description of all of the controller components.
