ATCRBS IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM REFLECTOR ANTENNA DEVELOPMENT
This report describes the results of a program undertaken by Texas Instruments Incorporated, under contract to the Transportation Systems Center (TSC), to investigate improved antennas for the Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (ATCRBS). Under this program, an engineering model of a new ATCRBS reflector antenna system was developed and tested. The antenna system was designed primarily for use in terminal area air traffic control, collocated with an Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR). Also developed during this program was an integral beacon feed for the ARSR-2 radar, to give improved beacon coverage for en-route sites. (Author)
