OUTLINE OF SOLUTIONS AVAILABLE FOR THE DESIGN OF RAFT FOUNDATIONS
An analysis of existing methods for the design of raft foundations is presented. In the main, existing methods make use of elastic half space or simplified elastic supporting systems. The development of a method capable of analysing cross anisotropic layered systems provides a means for a more rational analysis of raft foundations. /Author/TRRL/
